The owners wanted the kitchen opened up to the dining area and a laundry that could fit a stacked washer and dryer instead of the old side-by-side setup.
We removed the dividing wall and installed a structural beam, then re-ran the electrical and plumbing to suit the new bench layout. The island sits where the wall used to be, which keeps the sight line clear from the front door through to the back yard.
Cabinetry is soft-close throughout with a 40mm stone benchtop and a full-height splashback. In the laundry we reworked the plumbing into the corner, which freed up enough width for a bench and overhead cupboards.
